Help Iqtarib learn how people pray.
Iqtarib is a free Apple Watch app that counts your rak'ahs and taps your wrist only when something seems off. Before it reaches the App Store, it needs to be tried by people who pray a little differently from the person who built it.
For every person who installs the beta, we'll make a donation to the masjid. Your part is simply to pray with it.
Four steps, mostly just praying.
Tell us your name, the email you use for your Apple ID, and a little about your watch and how you pray.
Get your invitation
An email from Apple's TestFlight. Install TestFlight on your iPhone, tap Install, and Iqtarib goes onto your watch.
Pray as you normally do
Do the one-minute calibration once, then tap Start just before takbir. If all is well, you feel nothing.
Tell us when it gets it wrong
A buzz that felt wrong, or no buzz when you made a mistake? Open Settings, then Last prayer, then Share data, and send it with one line about what happened. This is the most helpful thing a tester can do.
An Apple Watch and an iPhone.
- An Apple Watch paired with your iPhone. The form asks for your model, and we'll check it can run the app before we invite you.
- The TestFlight app on your iPhone. It's free from Apple, on the App Store.
- A few weeks of praying with it as usual. New versions arrive through TestFlight as we fix what you find.
Everyone is welcome, brothers and sisters. It helps most to hear from people who wear the watch on the right wrist, raise their hands at every takbir, pray mostly behind an imam, or pray seated or in a chair.
The app collects nothing.
Your prayers are counted on your watch and stay there. A report leaves your watch only when you tap Share data and choose to send it. The sign-up form keeps your name and email only to send your invitation and follow up during testing, and we delete them when the beta ends. Privacy policy
Before you sign up
Is it free?
Yes. Free, with no ads and no in-app purchases, during the beta and after.
Does it work when I pray at the masjid?
Yes. It counts behind an imam the same way. It won't remind you of sujud as-sahw in congregation, because the imam carries it.
What if it buzzes wrongly in the middle of salah?
Carry on as you know is right. If you don't follow a buzz, the watch takes your lead, adjusts its count and stays quiet for the rest of that prayer. Then send us the report.
Can I stop testing?
Any time. Delete the app from your watch, or leave the beta in TestFlight. Write to us if you'd like your sign-up details deleted straight away.
Android or Wear OS?
Not for now. Iqtarib is built for Apple Watch.
